
John BLAKE (born 1945, Providence, Rhode Island, USA) pursued the study of painting at Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh and obtained his BFA in 1967 from Yale University (Norfolk Program). He then furthered his academic pursuits with a Master of Arts degree at the Royal College of Art in London in 1969. For decades, he has resided and created art primarily in Europe, initially based in London and later in the Netherlands since the mid-80s. Blake’s artistic practice is extensive, encompassing an array of mixed-media works such as site-specific installations, photo-constructions, drawings, and sculptures, along with slide-projections and films.
